Wait a minute -- Ellen performed?!  Sorry, but that was a show-stealer!

Ok -- now on to the winner... Lauren! Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I have been predicting this since -- I don't know -- since forever!

Lauren earned her win, and I must say I don't think I have ever been so happy to see a winner of this show crowned.

Last night's episode of SYTYCD summed up the entire season via flashbacks of some of the best highlights and low-lights of the season.

My personal favorite was the initial magnifying glass placed on the judges. Nigel's hair was mocked via a montage of the last seven seasons and it was quite entertaining. He took it like a champ, I must say.

Next up was Mia Michaels. Her focus of ridicule: her fantastical made-up adjectives. Some of my personal favorites are gorgeoisie (see bourgeoisie for reference), fabulosity, murderation (which I have personally mentioned before), and scruchie, which even Mia herself questioned the meaning of, as soon as she said it. Love Mia.

Adam Shankman -- "The man of a thousand faces" was given a very appropriate montage to Roxette's, "The Look." Needless to say, after watching a plethora of "Shankman faces," it was clear that he put Derek Zoolander himself to shame. Love you Adam!

So back to Lauren -- she's the shit. I've said it before and I'll say it again! She danced her ass off, earned her spot in the top 11, and then nailed it, winning her way to the top.

No doubt Kent and Robert have very bright futures ahead of them. Winning isn't everything. Russell proved that. He won last season and he wasn't considered an all-star? What's that about? Not like I was surprised or anything. I never agreed with this win. But that's just me.

All I can say is GO LAUREN! You earned it baby!

Is there much more to say than that? You be the judge!

Weigh in America. Are you happy with the results?

Last night's episode of SYTYCD was, hands down, the best finale this show has ever seen. All three performers brought their A game and the reality of this reality show is that it truly is anyone's game at this point. I am a professed Lauren fan, but Kent really blew me away tonight. I was left jaw to the floor at the close of the show. And then of course I went back and watched my favorites again.

Rather than attempting to give a play by play of last night's performances -- because the reality is I couldn't possibly do these kids justice -- I'll let the judges do the talking. They said it best last night and for once I agreed with every word they said:

After watching Kent and all-star Lauren, Mia Michaels says, "It was the perfect tailored Bollywood number for you." She even goes as far as to say it was "Kentish." Adam Shankman is blown away by his precision, and really credits his commitment considering the amount of dancing they were set to do over the course of the night. Later on when Kent is paired with all-star Allison, Adam sees that Kent is visibly moved by the piece he had just danced (a Stacey Tookey piece about a failing relationship) and asks him why. Kent replies that he was so emotionally involved with the piece that the movement didn't really matter to him anymore. Kent has just become an artist. Shankman ends with, "I am so proud of you. You don't need this show. You are brilliant." Serious words. For real.

After watching Lauren dance with all-star Twitch, Nigel says, "This is anyone's night to win, and all three of you deserve it." He adds that Lauren "transfixed them, having danced so strongly." Mia says Lauren "laid it down on the stage." She also adds that Lauren has been "consistent and trustworthy," an attribute that choreographers can depend on. Lauren never lets them down. Shankman loves the fact that she actually campaigned via her dance in the finale. He thought it was brilliant and calls her one of the best female dancers he has ever seen. Mia then pays her the ultimate compliment and says, "If I were still dancing, I would want to dance just like you." WOW!

Throughout the night, Robert is praised for his growth and ability to not only stay grounded, but become even more humble as a dancer -- by all three judges at different points in the show. Mia goes on to say that his performance with Lauren -- a contemporary piece choreographed by Dee Caspary -- is his "most delicious" performance yet. Adam caps off the critique by saying, "That was such an extraordinary piece about action and reaction .... One word: magnificent." Overall it's clear that the judges truly respect Robert and are enamored by how intensely he has emotionally grown throughout the course of the show.

These kids can definitely dance. There is no question about that. Now the only answer that remains to be revealed is who does America think is the best?

I'm still Team Lauren all the way. Although I will be thrilled if Kent wins as well, as I truly believe he has earned it. I put Robert in third. I agree that he's a brilliant dancer, but I don't buy his humble routine. Something about him just doesn't sit well with me.

Who do you think America's best dancer is?

Ladies first, indeed. Last night Lauren was the first contestant who was told that she would be moving forward to the SYTYCD finale. After that I pretty much went deaf and didn't care about who else moved forward -- as long as it wasn't Ade'Chike'. Don't get me wrong, he's a sweet guy, very respectful, and a phenomenal dancer. But he just didn't hold a candle to the other three contestants.

I am happy with the results and am very excited to see what they bring us next week. My prediction is a balls-to-the-wall performance on every end. I'm most excited to see the best performances of episodes past; they never seem to disappoint when it comes to highlighting the best of the best.

Tonight's episode featured too many "special performances," if you ask me. Thankfully, I have DVR and I'll be honest, I fast-forwarded through everything that didn't have to do with the contestants dancing and/or their results. I just don't have the patience to sit through Flo Rida doing his thing. There's a time and place for everything, and all my man Flo was doing tonight was standing between me and the results. Love ya Flo, but you gots to go.

My predictions remain the same for next week's finale. I think it will ultimately come down to Lauren and Kent. They are both amazing, but I truly believe that Lauren should win -- and if you ask me, I think the judges would agree. They went ape sh*t when Cat delivered the results and she was safe this week. I don't think I've ever seen them so excited for one particular dancer. I wholeheartedly believe that they want her to win.

We sure know Shankman does. He admitted to saying a prayer last night for her to make it to the finale. Dude, just drop to one knee and propose already -- that she work with you, that is. We all know she's not your type -- in that she's a girl and all.

Can't wait for next week!

Weigh in people. Who are you rooting for this season?

The four remaining contestants on SYTYCD brought their game to a whole new level last night. The final four exploded onto the stage and sent shock-waves through the crowd and judges (refer to my favorite judges' quotes of the night below). Of course there were some obvious standouts, a few less than stellar performances, and in my personal opinion, the revelation of SYTYCD's next All-Star -- win or lose (even though I think she should win) -- Lauren.

Before I get into the dancers and their performances, I'd like to take a brief moment and mention Cat Deeley's hair. What the hell was that? A faux bob? Seriously? That should be illegal. I can deal with the occasional faux hawk on people, but a bob? Oh hell no. I'm sorry, but I just can't. And I love that British Amazon chick. But that hair last night? Awful. She will undoubtedly watch that episode and fire her stylist for that one. Just hideous.

OK -- now that I've gotten that out of my system, here's my take on the final four:

Ade'Cheke': Had I seen that video montage about how he attended Laguardia Performing Arts Center and grew up in Bed-Stuy, I think I may have liked him more and given him more of a chance in my mind. I never felt as though his personality shone through in his performances and I believe the judges felt the same way. They didn't love his performances last night, but rather praised his abilities and encouraged him to learn from their critiques and continue to grow. To me, that translated as, "you're totally going home tomorrow, but we really think you're good -- you just need work." My prediction is that tomorrow Ade' will dance his last dance as a contestant on the SYTYCD stage.

Robert: It took a while for this guy to grow on me. I always felt as though he was a bit vapid. I never felt any depth of character from him and on a personal level, I need that emotional connection to connect with any artist, especially dancers. At times he seemed a bit contrived to me and so it wasn't until he performed Travis Wall's contemporary piece with All-Star Allison that he completely blew me away, as well as the judges and much of America.

Kent: Oh Kent. This little boy has won over the entire country with his small-town background and his complete and utter lack of street smarts. But when he dances, he leaves me speechless. I agree with the judges that his facial expressions can be over the top and sometimes pull your eye away from his dancing, but as he once put it, "I can't help it, it's just who I am." Hard to argue with that logic. Nevertheless, lose the faces and you won't annoy people as much. His dancing is impeccable. He truly is a beautiful and gifted kid. I see him as the next Travis Wall. Despite the judges' dislike of his jazz performance with Courtney, his final performance of the night with Neil, choreographed by (of course) Travis, was a complete show-stopper. I rewound it and re-watched it a few times. It was truly amazing. My personal opinion is that he and Lauren will be the final two standing.

Which brings me to ...

Lauren: When Lauren started out in this competition, the overwhelming feeling of the judges was that she was a bit immature and silly and wouldn't be taken seriously by America. Fast-forward one week and Lauren was all woman. In terms of personal and professional growth, Lauren is hands-down the winner. She has turned into a steaming hot woman right before our eyes. She has been referred to as "an All-Star" already, and last night Adam Shankman flat-out told her he wanted to work with her and all but offered her a job on the spot.

My pick to go home tonight: Ade

My pick to take the whole competition: Lauren

Alas, it is no longer about talent, but is now a popularity competition left up to America. Remember -- the show is about finding America's favorite dancer -- not America's best dancer. Tonight should be interesting. Anything can happen.

Quotes of the night:

"I wanna hire you." -- Adam Shankman to Lauren after her jazz routine with Ade.

"You're a beast." -- Mia Michaels to Lauren after her jazz routine with Ade.

"The heart of a dancer lives in the storyline." -- Tyce Diorio

So America? Who's your pick to take the title?

When I heard that Lauren would appear in last night's results episode of SYTYCD, I was elated. And then to one-up my elation were the words spoken by Nigel which revealed that Lauren would be staying in the competition. I can't remember his words exactly -- I was that excited.

I'm getting ahead of myself. Let me rewind for a moment.

The bottom three were Jose (no surprise), Billy (not that surprising), and Lauren (a total shock to the system, especially standing up there against Robert). My assumption is that her mysterious injury last night made people nervous, and hesitant to vote for her. It's the only logical assumption. The girl is a genius. Adam Shankman said he felt as though he had just witnessed an All-Star dance, after watching Lauren's final performance.

My money is on her to win all the way. Kent is definitely a fan favorite and since the ultimate decision is now in America's hands and no longer the judges, anything can happen. My personal belief is that the judges would choose Lauren as the best dancer. But this isn't about the best dancer, this is about America's favorite dancer.

In my mind Robert and Ade'Chike' pose no threat to the title -- but again, the fate of the winner now rests in the hands of the people -- not the experts.

I have to be honest, I kind of wish the judges picked the winner. Nobody knows better than them who should win -- but again, this isn't about the best, this is about the favorite (hence Russell's win last year).

Best of luck Lauren, I'm pulling for you!

Quote of the night: "I'm not just a B-boy anymore -- I'm a dancer." - Jose "Full Deck" Ruiz

What did you think of the results?

Last night's episode of SYTYCD was without a doubt one of my all-time favorites to date. These Top 6 contestants are no joke. With the exception of Jose (who wins me over with his smile and humility alone), these are the greatest top dancers I believe have ever graced the SYTYCD stage. I don't look forward to seeing Jose and whoever else gets the lowest amount of votes go home ...

Now, let me be clear, I love Jose. He is an incredible B-boy and the sweetest kid to ever stand next to the amazingly tall and elegant Cat Deeley (sweet God, I love her). His smile alone must win him millions of votes. But if we're getting into technical ability, which at this point we should be, then Jose stands out as the obvious contestant to leave. He rocks in his style, but he's proven week after week that his growth in other areas of dance has fallen short.

I will be very sad to see him to go. His charisma alone is hypnotizing.

Beyond what I consider an easy call with Jose, I have absolutely no idea what the judges will decide tomorrow night. Everyone else's performances tonight were incredible. Robert and All-Star Catherine's contemporary piece about a soldier (twist revealed at the end that it's Catherine going to war, when everyone assumed it was Robert) was spell-bounding. The emotion in the room was palpable.

Kent was absolutely incredible in not only his paired performances, but his solo as well.

Not to mention Billy's final routine of the night; a contemporary piece danced alongside All-Star Ade, which brought both the crowd and the judges to their feet. It was a truly incredible piece, where for the first time you really felt Billy had matured as a dancer.

But of course, the night must end in mystery with Lauren missing from the stage during the credits as Cat revealed that Lauren was with the medics and that they did not know what the situation was, but they were hoping it was nothing.

Great. There goes the best (and only female) dancer of the season.

These injuries are historical for this show. The curse of Season 7 will surely be spoken about in seasons to come.

Highlight of the night: Mia's hair -- that was a seriously product-filled faux hawk. I'm not going to lie -- I liked it.

Quote of the night: "Dance the intention." -- Adam Shankman

Blunder of the night: Nigel saying something to the effect of, "We've never seen this on American Idol before." Uh, wrong show, dude. Talk about a senior moment.

Who do you think will go home tonight?

billy bell

(Kitty) Cat Deeley nailed it when she called this season the "Battle of Survival." I love that woman -- all 10 feet of her. This season has become more of a self survival/preservation situation than anything.

For the third week in a row, injuries have plagued the show, making it anti-climactic. Unless the injured dancer actually gets their ass out on the dance floor and dances for their life, it's easy to assume who's going home. Phenom Billy Bell was hurt, but SYTYCD history was also made.

Billy was safe!

The judges couldn't agree and I have to say I'm thrilled with the results. I didn't want to see any of those three go home, especially under these circumstances. An injury taking out a contestant is something we as viewers can deal with once a season. But three? Oh hell no. That's just boring and poor television -- which perhaps led to their decision. Let's not forget that these shows are for profit -- they're not looking to bore the audience.

Well-played soulless network executives. Well-played indeed.

I was happy to see this trend brought to an end. All three of these kids were not ready to leave ... nor did they deserve to at this juncture.

Low-light of the night: Enrique Iglesias performs. Seriously? That's the best this show can do? I don't think so. Absent the mole, I barely even recognized this douche. Who did he know to get on last night's episode as a performer? That person should be fired. Twice. I'm sorry, but that guy makes me mental. He exudes an overabundance of self-confidence -- like he'd bang himself if he could. As far as this guy's concerned, nobody is sexier than him. And that makes me vomit in my mouth. Twice.

Highlight, but sad-light of the night: Having succumbed to ovarian cancer this past Saturday, July 17, 2010, Denise Jefferson was honored for her incredible dedication to dance and her massive contribution as the long-standing director of The Ailey School.

What did you think of the results?

Sadly, and for the third week in a row, a top contestant has been forced to sit out due to an injury. Let's hope this ends the theory of Threes. Will injured Billy Bell continue? We'll know tonight. But last night's SYTYCD put the focus on Lauren Froderman, an 18-year-old recent high school graduate who had a bit of a shaky start in the competition. Early on, her performances were decent, but her main issue was that she came across as too immature and innocent.

Psshht. Not anymore!

All I can say is that my girl can dance. She tore it up tonight with Twitch in her Hip-Hop routine choreographed by Nappytabs. Those two married hip-hop masters are insane. I can't get enough of them.

Simply put -- Lauren killed that sh*t. She decimated it. She reduced that puny dance to rubble (and yes, in some small way I am quoting one of my favorite films Overboard. If you don't get it -- you don't deserve to).

Lauren had a bit of a rough start. She's always been a sick dancer, but in her first few performances she had a bit of a Pollyanna thing going and nobody was digging it. But unlike most dancers, she took what the judges said to heart and she turned herself around and became a hard-hitting and sexy force on stage. She literally improves every week, which is something you hope for out of people like her, but rarely see. Lauren is the sh*t in my book. I love this chick.

Highlight of the night:

Kenny Ortega sat in as a guest judge. This is the man responsible for what we were able to see in Michael Jackson's final film debut, This Is It -- not to mention all of the High School Musical films and so much more. Even though his criticisms were benign, I actually enjoyed having him on the panel.

Quote of the Night: "Save a horse, ride a cowboy." -- Adam Shankman after watching Lauren and Twitch's loosely based hip-hop cowboy routine.

Contestant Solo of the Night goes to Ade'Chike' -- and I'm not even a fan. However, his solo completely won me over. For the first time, I looked at him as a true dancer who (as his mother said) "danced from his heart."

I miss Pasha. Who do you miss watching this season?

Last night's Season 3, Episode 5 of True Blood stood strong and certainly lived up to its title, "Trouble."

Moving on ... there is a lot of "new blood" this season, be it the vampire variety or the human (we think?) variety. Two characters are really standing out right now -- Jason Stackhouse's new love interest Crystal, played by Lindsay Pulsipher. And of course, everyone's new favorite psychopathic -- perhaps slightly bipolar -- vamp Franklin Mott, played by James Frain

Hands down, the funniest moment of the night was Frain's character showing off his rapid text-messaging skills to Tara. I have to say, it was a truly funny bit. It showed a silly side of Franklin and was so unexpected that I actually rewound it and watched it again.

This episode was overflowing with revelations, action, character development, and a whole sh*t-load more of stuff.

Douche Bag of the Night: Sam Merlotte's father, Joe Lee. He is a disgusting drunk mess -- but there's more to his relationship with his son Tommy. Needless to say I'm incredibly interested where this storyline goes. It's definitely going to be dark and twisted as it seems the entire family just seems to roll that way.

What did you guys think of the episode? So far, it's my favorite of the season. I think it's just beginning. What say you?

Last night's results episode of So You Think You Can Dance was in no way surprising. Sadly, it was the second week in a row that an injured contestant was sent packing. This week, Ashley Galvan was sent home after an injury earlier in the week left her unable to dance. It was totally anti-climactic.

The only thing that I personally found surprising was the appearance of Billy Bell in the bottom three. Not because I love him all that much, because honestly he bores the crap out of me, and that sh*t-eating-grin of his has got to go.

Truthfully, he's always been a judge favorite and clearly a well trained dancer. Yet for some reason, America didn't connect with him last night. I think Robert stole the show with his Travis Wall choreographed performance. I'm not even the hugest Robert fan, but the dance, choreography, and emotion involved in the piece undoubtedly launched him into the hearts of America -- a place he so desperately needed to be.

Kudos to Robert -- although if I were him, I'd be thanking Travis for the most kick ass choreography you'll ever come across this season. I think it's safe to say the rest is in his hands.

Highlight of the night:

Twitch and Comfort performing their Hip-Hip routine choreographed by Dave Scott during their reign in 2008 to Chris Brown's "Forever." (Keep in mind, this was performed before the girlfriend-beating side of Chris became public).

See this video on The Stir by CafeMom.

So? Any opinions?

Every season there is one dance that stands out amongst the rest. Something happens in the dance universe and choreographer, dancer and music producer come together to create something that brings the audience to its knees and the judges to tears. Last night's episode of So You Think You Can Dance was no exception.

Season 8 contestant Robert and All-Star Allison danced a Travis Wall routine to Coldplay's "Fix You." The minute I saw the name of the song all I could think was, "oh crap -- no matter what this sh*t is about -- I'm about to cry." And as usual, I was right. Robert and go-to contemporary girl Allison danced a piece that was a heart stopping, game ending performance. Everyone in the room was choked up -- including the dancers, Travis, the judges and especially Robert's mother.

The theme behind the dance was a young man helping his ill mother.

Travis Wall choreographed this for his sick mother -- the woman who taught him how to dance and who nurtured his career. The silent emotion he displayed was palpable. I can't even make fun of these dudes -- I am openly, self-professing my gayness and saying I enjoyed it -- and I even shed a tear.

Sue me. This sh*t's emotional.

Needless to say Mia was choking on her tears as she tried to speak. Having recently lost her mother, this piece was a guaranteed shot-through-the-heart for her. I love Mia and I have to say my heart was heavy for her after this performance. I don't think anyone who watched Neil Haskell and Lacey Schwimmer dance to "Flowers," in Season 3 -- a piece she choreographed and dedicated to her late father -- could watch tonight's performance and not recall that dance.

Adam called the routine, "one of the best performances of the season," as well as saying "Travis, if you don't get an Emmy nod, there is no God."

What did you think of the dances tonight? Am I the only one who doesn't have any love for Ade'chike'? The kid does nothing for me.

Weigh in people! I want some opinions.

Eric and Lafayette on True BloodThe Season 3, Episode 4 of True Blood was every bit as twisted and deranged as last week's fang-banging episode. Instead of attempting the impossible task of explaining what the hell went on in this episode, I thought I would just highlight some interesting moments and realizations and see what you guys have to say:

**Spoiler Alert.**

Best line of the night, after being told over the phone by Bill that he is no longer interested in a relationship with Sookie, she replies, "Shut the f*ck up!" I laughed out loud. It was brilliant.

What is Eric's connection to Pam? Clearly, he cares for her. I also wondered what The Magister was referring to when he said something along the lines of there being no worse pain than losing a child. Did Eric "make" Pam?

Eric saving Lafayette's ass and then saying, "Let's go RuPaul." Hilarious. Their relationship is pure entertainment.

Sookie responds to Abside, I mean Alcide, after he told her relationships turn around and kick you in the nut-sack, "but I don't have a nut-sack." Thank you for that one. I'm still laughing.

Tara is quickly becoming the Kelly Taylor of True Blood. What isn't going to happen to this girl?

The title of the episode was "9 Crimes," which happens to be one of my favorite Damien Rice songs, which also played at the end of the show -- only it wasn't Damien Rice's version. I did enjoy it, but Rice does it better. Oddly, this song debuted in Shrek the Third. So out of place. But I digress. It was the perfect ending to an episode full of crimes, betrayal, and treason.

Best reveal of the night: Think back to the scene in a recent episode where Eric and Godrick were soldiers in WWII and they come across a werewolf woman who tells them that someone, "one of their own," is supplying werewolves with V. Tonight it was confirmed that King Russell is indeed that guy.

If we learned anything from tonight's episode, it's the following: Everyone is either lying, hiding something, a werewolf, a vampire, a werewolf that drinks vampire blood, a vampire that feeds werewolves his blood, a King, a Queen (as in an actual queen and a gay one), and lastly -- that crazy werewolf bitches addicted to V get branded. Hey -- I don't make this shit up, I just bring it to you live.

Question of the day -- is it me, or does anyone else out there wish they would change the opening of the show? All I can say is thank you DVR! I can't fast-forward through that disturbing intro fast enough.

Congrats to the entire cast and crew for the 5 Emmy nods True Blood received this week. Well deserved!

Last night's episode of So You Think You Can Dance bid a tearful goodbye to SPOILER COMING ballet prodigy and judge favorite, Alex Wong. It was bittersweet as Alex was taken out of the competition not by his lack of talent, but by the lack of his Achilles tendon to hold up in rehearsal the previous night.

Alas -- the show must go on. I have to say that while I absolutely enjoy the dancers' performances on Wednesday nights' show, I think I find more enjoyment on the results episode the following evening. It's not because I like to see anyone leave the competition (that's a total lie -- I love watching the deserving people go), but because the show itself is more entertaining in my book.

They always open with a wild and exciting group dance, usually choreographed by Mia Michaels or the dude that will forever be remembered as the guy who slept with B-Fed and broke her and Justin up -- Wade Robson. The guy's brilliant, and by far one of my favorite choreographers, but let's be real ... he banged Brit -- that's how he'll always be remembered beneath the genius of his choreography. It's true and you know it.

Anyway -- aside from Alex, the other contestants in the bottom three were Billy something and that chick Ashley. We all knew Billy wasn't going anywhere, and while at times Ashley is hard to look at, her solo performance was off the chain. That chick truly danced for her life.

But no matter -- the decision had already been made and Alex was a goner. C'est la vie.

Highlights of the night:

It was revealed that Adam Shankman had been nominated for an Emmy for his choreography of the Academy Awards. Way to go Ad!

Mia Michaels had been nominated for an Emmy for routines choreographed during seasons five and six. So not surprised. She's a contemporary genius ... despite her misplaced anger toward the contestants.

July 31 has been officially declared National Dance Day. For some reason the song "Footloose" will not stop playing in my head.

And last but not least, Nigel announced that Glee had been nominated for 19 Emmy Awards. You heard me. Nineteen! That's some sick shit for a musical comedy-drama  television series that is generally considered lame, gay, and totally over the top. Needless to say, I'm thrilled. Sue Sylvester is the greatest character ever written for prime time television.

Who do you think should take the Emmy for best choreographer this year?

alex wong sytycdThe biggest story of last night's So You Think You Can Dance was by far the absence of Alex Wong. During rehearsal the previous night, Alex was rehearsing and as he came down from a jump, he hit the floor in agony and was taken to the hospital. It is believed that he may have torn his Achilles tendon (the same injury that kept David Beckham out of the World Cup this year, and will most likely keep him off the field for months to come).

And just like that the best dancer on the whole damn show is probably going to now watch from the sidelines while some fan favorite wins, like that dude Russell Ferguson. Everyone knows that guy was not the best dancer. Yes -- he could krump like nobody's business, but he didn't deserve that crown. Oh hell no.

So in summary -- this sucks.

I love watching that ballerina dude dance. He's amazing. But what can you do?

I'll tell you what you can do. You can turn your head and let Pasha make it all go away.

Is it me or has he gotten hotter and 100 times better than he was on his season? I cannot take my eyes off this guy.

Last night he danced with Lauren. At least I think he did, I can't remember because all I could see were those hips and that shirtless chest of his. Sweet baby Jesus, may clothing never touch that man's torso.

Otherwise, a bunch of kids danced. Some were amazing. Some sucked.

I will say the best dance of the night was Kent and Lauren's contemporary piece choreographed by SYTYCD alum Travis Wall. It was a prom-themed dance, which actually suited both dancers quite well considering their proms were probably about a month ago.

Best new word of the night: Murderation -- courtesy of Mia Michaels. I will try to use this word at least once a day now. It's fabulous.

Quote of the night: "If your spirit dances, your body will follow." -- Mia Michaels

I know, I know -- it's a little gay -- but when you're caught up in the moment of watching these kids dance, a line like that can really stick with you. American Idol can suck it. The real talent is on So You Think You Can Dance.
